A little bit on the history of Helvetica and Arial typefaces and why Arial is evil, Also, how to spot the difference. Quite interesting.

Arial appears to be a loose adaptation of Monotype’s venerable Grotesque series, redrawn to match the proportions and weight of Helvetica. At a glance, it looks like Helvetica, but up close it’s different in dozens of seemingly arbitrary ways

So, the cat is out of the bag. The iPad is basically an iPhone for the partially sighted. All apps bought through the appstore, no real keyboard, no unfiltered 3rd party apps, no proper controls for games. What a wasted opportunity.

Looks like I’ll be after a proper netbook after all.

Lots of speculation about this, but lets face it they’re not making a 10 inch tablet. It’s just not practical. At 10 inches it’s not pocketable so it’ll need a cover, and why not put a keyboard on that cover?

My prediction is a 10 inch netbook, possibly with touchscreen. Built in 3g networking too probably. It might even run some sort of handicapped OSX. Lets see how wrong I can be.
